SUMMER TRIP

summer has officially begun [as of may 11th] and i am terribly sorry that i havent been posting. i leave for barcelona next week so i thought i would post some of the items that im taking,

in my carry-on bag:

a good paper back book [i was thinking bed by tao lin?]

magazines [us weekly, vogue, bazaar, elle...]

snacks [oreos, among other things]

blackberry 

ipod 

computer [with a new itunes movie]

my polaroid camera [for some in-flight shots of my sis]

a hoodie and a cashmere throw [planes are always cold]

my sunnies [always incognito]

a notebook and colored pencils 

and in my luggage:

white denim [only for vacation]

bangles [i have some cute gold and mother of pearl ones]

really soft and thin tanks [like this, but cheaper] 

sandals 

my favorite jean cutoffs  

a straw fidora

swim wear 

cotton cardis [like this]

CURLY HAIR

having unruly curls, i've used it all. really i've used everything.  this little pudding here from miss jessie's line works wonders even on my wild mane. so for all of you who have curly hair issues, this should calm things down up there.  find it at www.missjessies.com

SWINE FLU PREVENTION

personally, i'm not all that concerned but measures must still be taken to avoid getting sick.  here's what the center for disease control recommends:

• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

• Wash your hands vigorously and often with soap and water for at least 15 seconds, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are also effective.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

• Try to avoid close contact with people who are sick. Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.

• If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

BOXING

the fight is on tomorrow night, manny pacquiao vs. ricky hatton. franco shade did a tee shirt for pac man and all the proceeds go to his foundation that helps underprivileged kids in the phillippines. ive been to vegas but ive never been to a fight, maybe one day ill say "you cats is home screamin the fights on - im in the fifteen hundred seats watching tyson" [thats a jay z lyric but id substitute tyson for floyd mayweather jr]

STRAWBERRY

sorry i havent been posting that much, finals are killing me! there was a strawberry festival today so i took a break from studying to stuff my face with strawberry shortcake, strawberry ice cream, strawberry cotton candy etc.etc. very delicious, did you know strawberries are the only fruit whose seeds are on the outside?
