everyone's been wearing green nail polish lately [as seen here] but i couldnt find a shade of green for me until now: essie's mint candy apple is perfect for day-to-day wear because it more closely resembles mint ice cream rather than nickelodeon slime

DREW'S WEDDING

my brother drew [just drew, not andrew] married his high school sweetheart on october 11th and it was a wonderful ceremony. my brother's slightly nerdy/artistic/industrial design side was ever present as seen in his "bow tie" [an ipod touch] and "air tuxies" [patent leather sneaks]. there were no bridesmaids or groomsmen, just the two of them and the audience [very intimate]. luckily that meant no bridesmaids' dresses for my sister and i so she wore rebecca taylor and i wore elizabeth and james [funny because the actual "elizabeth" is one of my best friends' roommate]. the reception/brunch started at a restaurant and ended late into the night at my house. it's always a good time when family and friends get together to celebrate and i am really excited for my brother and his wife. hoping for a niece or nephew soon, eeeeeek!

on my actual birthday [thursday] i was a little bummed because my friends had told me they were too busy to hang out. little did i know my sister had planned a surprise dinner for me and they were all lying to keep it a surprise. i was sooo shocked i cried haha. my sister picked the perfect place [varga bar] i had never been there before but they have delicious cocktails [one with bubble gum vodka] and food [mini burgers, truffle mac and cheese with bacon, and cereal flavored ice cream, i die]. she put soo much thought into it, like putting personalized "lil bits" stickers on the bottom of hershey kisses [similar to those seen here] and i reallllly love her for it, i owe her a million trips to starbucks.

on friday my family and i went to dinner at steven starr's new restaurant pizzeria stella [try the one with proscuitto and arugula] . steven starr himself was walking around the restaurant so i basically grew mega balls and walked up to him and introduced myself!!! he was very nice and i finally got to tell him how much i admire his business. it was nice birthday treat.

sooo here are my gifts, i got a lot of money [so expect some purchases soon] and a gift certificate but beside that i recieved a t by alexander wang tank [lovelovelove thin soft gauzy tanks], a free people shirt [the front is sheer- very sexy], and [from my mom and dad] the shorter version of the dvf coat i died over [here] !!!!!!! cant wait to wear it

my birthday is october 8th but i started the celebrations early! soo saturday the 3rd j, amie, and i spent a night in ny partying with my new york buddies [bell, lance, manny, rodriguez etc.] at club element [corner of houston and a]. it was a shitshow and i was really happy to see them all. i did a tiny bit of shopping during the day: a metallic marc by marc jacobs coin purse [shown above with the one i got with the daisy perfume ring], a mini diptyque baies candle [i die], and a vintage sequin top [i cant get enough]. we also ate lunch at fred's [on the 9th floor of barney's] i've loved their french fries since i was kid...served with garlic mayo, i mean

MORE BRIDAL

my brother's fiance's bridal shower was held at honey's sit and eat in northern liberties. we had the best seats [in the window] and ate delicious nutella french toast. afterwards, we did a little shopping and like true fatties made our way over to the piazza for burgers and milkshakes at pyt [like my favorite mj song, which i got the dj to play] pyt has a very cute menu that includes "adult milkshakes" [alcohol involved] and grilled cheese sandwiches made with boursin [yummmmo]

BACHELORETTE PARTY

no not mine.. my brother is getting married to a great girl so my sister and i took it upon ourselves to show her a good time. we threw her a surprise bachelorette party [complete with a cheesy but totally necessary sash and blinking tiara]. we started the night with appetizers and patron shots at swanky bubbles in old city and ended with more shots and bowling at north bowl in northern liberties. [who knew a blinking tiara was the key to getting free shots?] my sister and i took some amazing pictures in the old school photo booth there [a great addition to my bulletin board] and the bride-to-be was definitely in a stupor by the night's end... vomit was involved haha
