GAP

the alexander wang for gap merchandise is coming soon and from what ive seen im excited which is more than i can say about some of his latest work [namely that pink blazer with the metal rings]
"for the past two years, gap has released a "design editions" collection with the cfda [council of fashion designers of america]/ vogue fashion fund nominees. both times, designers have put their spin on the traditional white button-down shirt [phillip lim did one last year]. this year, things are going to be different. teen vogue just interviewed gap vp of design patrick robinson [who did a nice line for target a while back], and he let slip that none other than alexander wang will be doing a garment for the project and it will be made from something other than white cotton: he did this incredible motorcycle jacket in khaki that's going to be under $100. it's coming out on june 16th"

DREAM HOUSE

paradise located in shanghai

I LOVE NY

im missing ny a bit, so i put together some recommendations for those tootsie rollin around the city,
for weekend brunch:
sarabeth's serves traditional breakfast [including biscuits!] and they sell jars of homemade jam
or pastis which serves a french inspired brunch in the heart of the meat-packing district
for lunch:
jg melon, im a cheeseburger-french fries-milkshake kinda girl and the burgers here are the shit. dylan lauren [ralph's daughter and owner of dylan's candy bar] recommended this place in an interview i read so i tried it and was hooked.
for dinner:
blue ribbon sushi, similar to nobu in price and style but a bit more intimate
to pamper:
rescue beauty lounge, they make their own nail polish colors [try "starfish patrick" a coral color named after a character from the spongebob squarepants cartoon]
go out:
the empire hotel, the roof is summerlicious

im coming to visit soon!!!! [shouts to bell]

TOMS

although i havent purchased my first pair of toms shoes yet [because i cant decide between the green tyedye, the polka dot, or those anchor adorned ones below] , i really admire what the company does: "for every pair of shoes you buy, toms will give a pair of shoes to a child in need. one for one. using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about." my sister and i want to volunteer to take the shoes to the kids on a "shoe drop", find out more here.

ART

i really love jean-michel basquiat's artwork and i love these photographs of him as a young man.
