mini baies!!

my birthday is october 8th but i started the celebrations early! soo saturday the 3rd j, amie, and i spent a night in ny partying with my new york buddies [bell, lance, manny, rodriguez etc.] at club element [corner of houston and a]. it was a shitshow and i was really happy to see them all. i did a tiny bit of shopping during the day: a metallic marc by marc jacobs coin purse [shown above with the one i got with the daisy perfume ring], a mini diptyque baies candle [i die], and a vintage sequin top [i cant get enough]. we also ate lunch at fred's [on the 9th floor of barney's] i've loved their french fries since i was kid...served with garlic mayo, i mean

MORE BRIDAL

my brother's fiance's bridal shower was held at honey's sit and eat in northern liberties. we had the best seats [in the window] and ate delicious nutella french toast. afterwards, we did a little shopping and like true fatties made our way over to the piazza for burgers and milkshakes at pyt [like my favorite mj song, which i got the dj to play] pyt has a very cute menu that includes "adult milkshakes" [alcohol involved] and grilled cheese sandwiches made with boursin [yummmmo]

BACHELORETTE PARTY

no not mine.. my brother is getting married to a great girl so my sister and i took it upon ourselves to show her a good time. we threw her a surprise bachelorette party [complete with a cheesy but totally necessary sash and blinking tiara]. we started the night with appetizers and patron shots at swanky bubbles in old city and ended with more shots and bowling at north bowl in northern liberties. [who knew a blinking tiara was the key to getting free shots?] my sister and i took some amazing pictures in the old school photo booth there [a great addition to my bulletin board] and the bride-to-be was definitely in a stupor by the night's end... vomit was involved haha

WEEKENDER

that's all for now, cheers to the weekend [gotta love genevieve jones]

ART

i didnt get a chance to make it to kehinde wiley's exhibit [it ends tomorrow] but i will post about him anyway because i admire his work. wiley is "a new york based painter who is known for his paintings of contemporary urban african american men in poses taken from the annals of art history. he gained recent acclaim for his heroic portraits which address the image and status of young african american men in contemporary culture."

GARDEN

this is my little garden in my apartment, just a few cacti and this cute little "eggling" that my mom gave me, it came with soil and strawberry seeds inside so hopefully it'll grow a tiny strawberry plant

HOME OPENER

my sister and i went to the philadelphia eagles home opener today! even though we lost to the saints [booooo] it was a great day; we had great seats, it was very very sunny, and we enjoyed all sorts of stadium food [hotdogs, chicken fingers, fries, and dippin dots]. i was soo happy to be at my favorite team's first home game of the season! go birds!!!!!!!!!!!!

we all went to new york to celebrate my darling sister's birthday on september 12th. we didnt arrive till very late friday night and went to the only place we knew was still serving food: pop burger on 9th ave and 14th st. we stuffed our face with mini burgers and fries and demanded specific tunes from the dj...namely 50 cent's in da club, for the "go shawty it's ya birthday" part [corny but classic]. my sister somehow managed to order 280 dollars worth of alcohol and had us all stumbling home. the next day we had a late brunch at the brooklyn diner [57th and 7th] and then went back to the hotel for naps. at 6pm we went to the trapeze school [as seen in an episode of sex and the city] and it was soooo cool [even though i was scared]. that night we went to philippe chow's [60th and Madison] for dinner and blueberry mojitos. we sat next to rafer alston and his entourage which was nice [they wished laurie a happy birthday]. before we left on sunday we stopped at barney's for shopping [i got new jbrands] and a bakery for mini cupcakes..soooo delicious.
